Australian Yellow Backed Spider

The spider above is a modification of the Cosmic Spider from the 'Meccanoids' Manual.  All that was required was to make the legs slightly more rigid and to add a fourth pair of legs at the end.  The gearbox design was excellent and required no modification.

French Purple Mammoth

Straight out of the '40' Model set from Meccano France.  A real crowd pleaser!  The mammoth walks along swinging its head and tail from side to side.  Like many 'manual' models it was under geared and as can be seen by the brass gear, I had to reduce the speed by changing the last gear ratio.  Otherwise an excellent model.
